Conveyancing The key to moving house is to be as organised as possible and to take every opportunity to keep your conveyancer advised of your particular requirements and any time scale that you have in mind.
We suggest that once you decide to purchase a property or to move home you should contact us straight away so that we can advise you of the necessary steps to be taken even before you have found a property to purchase or arranged a sale of your existing home. Licensed Conveyancers
J Scollan & Co are a firm of lawyers specialising in property related transactions and are regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers rather than the Law Society which regulate solicitors dealing with general legal work. We do not carry out any court work such as matrimonial or crime which means that we can concentrate on our conveyancing transactions.
We are regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers who require all firms to have an annual audit of their accounts to ensure that all financial transactions are in order and within the strict rules that apply in relation to client money. The Council for Licensed Conveyancers also carry out an inspection of our conveyancing files approximately ever two years to ensure that we maintain the high standard required by the Council in the conduct of our files.
The Council for Licensed Conveyancers provide a complaints service in which they will investigate any complaint made against a Licensed Conveyancer and also ensure that all Licensed Conveyancers carry adequate professional indemnity insurance so that any client’s that suffer a loss due to the negligence of a firm of Licensed Conveyancers will be able to obtain compensation.
